Constituency: Stoke-on-Trent South
Rob Flello represents Stoke-on-Trent South in the House of Commons.
The constituency includes Blurton, Fenton, Longton, Meir, Weston Coyney, Meir Park, Trentham and Hanford.
Rob has represented the constituency since the 2005 General Election when he polled 17, 727 votes, or 46.9 per cent, to secure a majority of 8,618. Rob won the seat again in 2010 with a majority of 4,130.
He is only the fourth MP to have had the honour since the seat was created in 1950 and his predecessors also represented the Labour Party: Ellis Smith (1950-66); Jack Ashley (1966-92) and George Stevenson (1992-05).
Disability campaigns led by Mr - later Lord - Ashley triggered legal changes which improved the lives of deaf people. One of these changes led to the inclusion of sign language in television programmes. Mr Ashley himself became deaf as a result of an operation.
