Rob says new rail deal must put Stoke-on-Trent at the forefront of improvements

Rob has given a cautious welcome to the extension of Arriva’s contract to provide Cross Country rail services, but he is warning that improvements must be made which benefit his constituents.

The Department of Transport has announced an extension to the deal to run until October 2019.  The company has agreed to improve journey times between Manchester and Birmingham by nine to twelve minutes and to provide “free and faster Wi-Fi” to customers.

Rob calls for tough action on those who abuse emergency services staff

Rob has called for a review of sentencing guidelines in light of figures suggesting that attacks on emergency services crews continue to increase.

Figures show that around 40% of ambulance staff reported being violently attacked in 2015, with 2.7% saying they had been attacked more than ten times in a year.

"Apologies are not enough" says Rob, as Concentrix scandal leaves constituents desperate

Rob Flello has blasted the Government for its “pitiful” failure in addressing the devastation caused by Concentrix, the firm paid by the Government to cut benefits payments.

Instead of tackling incorrect and fraudulent payments, however, thousands of people have been wrongly punished due to errors made by the company, leaving them in a desperate situation.

Time to sort out nightmare junction once and for all

Rob has called on Stoke-on-Trent City Council to “properly address” an accident hotspot on Weston Road.

Work was carried out the junction of Weston Coyney Road, Weston Road and New Kingsway just last year in an attempt to make it safer, however accidents are still a regular occurrence.

Traveller-proofing at Weston Coyney long overdue - but is it action at last?

Rob has welcomed Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s commitment to install earth mounds around fields in Weston Coyney which have become a magnet for travellers.

Following lobbying by Rob and local representatives, the Council has agreed to make improvements to land adjacent to Weston Coyney Junior School, off Brookwood Drive.
