Clean for the Queen: Rob picks litter with Sandford Hill Primary School pupils as part of national tidy up for Monarch's 90th birthday

ROB has put his litter-picking skills to the test as part of a national tidy up for the Monarch’s 90th birthday.

The MP took part in Clean for the Queen by helping pupils from Sandford Hill Primary School, in Clayfield Grove, Longton, bag more than half a dozen large sacks of rubbish.

Conservative MPs are "heartless", says Rob, after Tories block plan to gauge impact of benefit cuts

ROB has accused Conservative MPs of “heartlessness” after they blocked plans to examine the effect of their proposed benefit cuts on disabled people.

The Stoke-on-Trent South Labour MP spoke after the Tories voted to overrule the House of Lords’ demand for the Government to conduct an impact assessment into scheduled cuts to Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

Ministers want to take away £30 a week – £1,500 a year – from new disabled ESA claimants who may be capable of work in future, despite research suggesting the benefit’s low level is already failing to meet claimants’ needs.
