Rob writes to Highways England chief to express concern over absence of plans to improve safety of A50

ROB has written to the boss of England’s major road network to express concern over the absence of plans to improve the safety of the A50 in Stoke-on-Trent.

The Labour MP contacted Jim O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Highways England (HE), after the Government-owned company outlined plans to invest £1.8 billion in the Midlands before 2021.

Although HE’s proposals includes one scheme in Stoke-on-Trent, it makes no mention of improving the A50 - particularly its hazardous slip-roads - work Rob insists is essential and long overdue.
