ROB has thanked shoppers for helping collect enough food to provide more than 14,000 meals for hungry people in his Stoke-on-Trent South constituency.

The MP spoke after supermarket chain Tesco announced the results of a two-day food collection held at its Longton Extra, Meir Superstore and Meir Hay Express outlets earlier this month.

Rob, who is the Labour chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Freight Transport, received the request from Robert Goodwill, Parliamentary under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport, after raising concerns on behalf of operators.
